1977

• Started company from walk-up apartment and backseat of car selling general merchandise and sundries

1980

• Moved to Brooklyn storefront
• Product line expanded to include tobacco, pipes, cigars and accessories
• Hired first employee

1983

• Moved to 3000 square ft. facility in Plainview, NY
• Added imported cigarettes and candy
• 6 employees

1988

• Relocated to 37,000 sq. ft. facility also in Plainview
• Became New York State licensed stamping cigarette agent
• Hired 12 new salesmen
• Product line grew to include store supplies, drinks and snacks
• Sales revenue $25 million per year

1995

• Purchased 125,000 sq. ft. warehouse from Grumman Corp.
• Reached 100 employees
• Expanded geographic penetration to include upstate NY
• Sales revenue reached $500 million

2000

• Opened Distribution Facility in Albany, NY

2001

• Opened Naugatuck, CT Distribution Facility

2002

• Moved to present location at 21 Banfi Plaza, Farmingdale, NY. 600,000 sq. ft. facility
• Sales revenue $1 billion dollars
• 420 employees, 103 delivery vehicles
• Territories covered include NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA and RI
• One of the nation's largest full line convenience store distributors with products ranging from coffee to frozen foods and services such as store planogramming and resets

2004

• HLA launches a web site to move the company forward technologically and continue to provide our customer base with expanded services that you need to be as profitable as possible

2009

• Auburn, Massachusetts Distribution Facility Built
  10,000 Square Ft Freezer Built for a total of 20,000 square feet of freezer space.
